Facial masks are very important skincare products aimed at unplugging the skin pores on the face, leaving the face smooth, fresh and firm. They may not be as popular as regular cleansers or moisturizers but they help in beauty routine.

There are different types of masks and each one has a slightly different effects but still capable of producing a plugged-free face, such as the clay mask, moisturizing masks, exfoliating masks and peel-off masks.

CLAY MASKS:
They are also called mud masks. It works well on oily skin. It absorbs excess oil, reduces the appearance of pores and stimulates the blood circulation, thereby making the skin glow. Some clay masks can even help in preventing pimples. Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, allow it to dry and then wash it off with water.

It often contains little abrasive particles which helps to remove dead skin cells and impurities from the face, though they may feel ďscratchyĒ during application and removal, it is not a good choice for sensitive skin. PEEL OFF MASK:- This type of mask is usually in liquid or gel form. After it is apphed and allowed to dry, it is removed by peeling off the film it has formed on the face. This removal method helps to get rid of blackheads, whiteheads and dead skin cells. It is particularly suitable for sensitive skin as they usually feel cool on application.

If skin is irritated, chapped or sore after usage, do not use it again.

You are probably reacting to the ingredients and you have become allergic to it. If you suffer from acne or have scar tissue on the face, it is advisable to seek a dermatologist.

THE DONíTíS.
Donít use a face mask everyday, as it could irritate your skin and cause it to flare up. Apply once or twice a week. Donít leave the mask on your face, if it starts feeling tight or stings Donít mix face mask products together because each face mask has been carefully formulated using specific amount of ingredients to produce a certain effect and so mixing the masks will create an imbalance that could damage the skin.
