Ekpiwhre Stresses the Importance of Education in Nation Building.
The Federal Minister for Works and Housing Chief Mrs. Grace Ekpiwhre has described education as the bedrock of the nations building.
Chief Mrs. Grace Ekpiwhre made this remark recently at Okpare Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area during the 7th Year Anniversary of the Olomu Elite Association of Nigeria.
The Minister who was also honoured by the Olomu Elite of Nigeria for her numerous contribution to the development of Olomu Kingdom, noted that the world is developing at a very high speed and it requires education for one to meet with the pace of development.
She encouraged parents to shun extravagant spending and focus their attention towards the education of their children. The Minister advised youths to embrace education as a way of liberating them from the shackle of poverty instead of engaging in restiveness, pipeline vandalization, begging and all form of criminality.
Chief Mrs. Ekpiwhre commended the Olomu Elite of Nigeria for their Scholarship Scheme. Earlier, in his address the State Chairman of Olomu Elite, Ogun Paul E. Agboroh disclosed that one of the major objectives of the Olomu Elite is to assist sons and daughters of Olomu especially the less-privileged in getting quality education as well as of providing employment for graduate youths from Olomu.
Chief Agboroh said the Association having observed the non-chalant attitude of our youths towards education decided to put in place Scholarship Scheme both for secondary pupils and university undergraduates.
While appealing for support from all sons and daughters of Olomu Kingdom Olorogun Agboroh said beneficiaries of the scholarship are drawn from every town in Olomu Kingdom.
In his remark, the National President of the Olomu Elite Olorogun Moses Tanga called on all sons and daughters of Olomu Kingdom to show love towards one another adding that where there is love and unity there will be development. Beneficiaries of the Scholarship Scheme thanked the members of the Olomu Elite of Nigeria.
