Don Tasks SUBEB on Tenure of LEA Secretaries.
A University Don, Professor Felix Ugah, has called on the State Government to prevail on the authorities of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to as a matter of urgency drop Primary school Education Secretaries who have completed their tenure.
Professor Ugah made the call at Abraka while reacting to the alleged wide range of corruption in Primary and Secondary schools in the state.
He regretted that while the State Government is doing its best to improve the quality of education, some education secretaries in collaboration with some Primary School heads are busy collecting huge amounts of money from parents, for admission and other illegal fees.
Professor Ugah urged the state Universal Primary Education Board to Probe the activities of primary school heads as it was done to Principals of secondary schools to enthrone sanity in the system.
He said such a bold step by the state Government will eliminate corruption and bad eggs in the Education sector, as well as serve as a deterrent to others.
