The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ishaya Ibrahim has commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for his love and concern for the Nigerian Navy. Admiral Ishaya who was on a working visit to the state to determine the extent of damage done by armed youths to their facility at Escravos praised the governor for his administration’s numerous contributions to the Navy and his desire to protect lives and property in the state.

Admiral Ishaya said the peaceful co-existence between the government and people of the state have brought back peace and transformation to the commercial city of Warri.

Vice Admiral Ibrahim assured the governor that the Navy would support his administration to restore absolute peace to the Niger-Delta Region and called on the youth of the region to contribute their quota to the development of the area.

He said “Youths in the state should note that their positive contributions are needed to help develop the area for peace and posterity.”

Speaking earlier, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan warned the Youths in the State not to take advantage of the Federal Government’s amnesty initiative to perpetuate economic sabotage in the Niger-Delta Region.

Governor uduaghan explained that the amnesty pardon granted Militant in the region was for them to drop their arms and turn a new leaf not to use it as bases for illegal vandalization and noted that the state would re-enforce Law and Order to address this issue.

According to him “l thank Mr. President for his amnesty pardon to militant but will state that my administration is not closing its eyes to restoring law and order especially to curb illegal vandalization which is a big economic sabotage. Any youth caught in this act will be severely dealt with.”

The governor commended the Nigerian Navy for the crisis management measures taken so far to restore peace in the Niger-Delta Region and assured them of his administration’s support especially on the Forward Operation Base ( FOB) location in Escravos to help improve the security measures of the navy in the state.

He said “ I want to thank you for the security measures you have taken so far to see that peace is restored to the Niger-Delta Region, l will continue to support your imitative towards this course.”
