The State Forum of Registered Political Parties has suspended indefinitely the erstwhile State Chairman of the Accord Party, Mr. Benson Gbelele from the Forum.

The State Chairman of the Forum, Prince Obaro Unuafe stated this yesterday while speaking on recent developments within the forum.

He said the indefinite suspension of the erstwhile State Chairman of the Accord Party was necessitated by his activities which are at variance with the policy thrust and vision of the Forum.

Prince Unuafe said the Forum had resolved to reorganize its activities inorder to achieve its outlined goals and also invoke appropriate sanctions on erring members.

The Forum's Chairman called on members to employ the tradition of due process and rule of law in the discharge of their party activities in order to avoid creating unnecessary rancour within the forum.

He also called on all political parties to embrace peace and harmony in order to attract the needed development in the State.

While stressing that the issue of election to change the leadership of the Forum has been put on hold Prince Unuafe stated that the Principal Officers of the Forum still remains.

He restated the commitment of the Forum on partnering with the State government to ensure the successful delivery of its three point agenda.
