The National Executive of the Accord Party has reaffirmed that Honourable Pat Ajudua remains the Minority Leader of the State House of Assembly.

This is in reaction to a letter purportedly written by the State Chairman of the party Comrade Benson Gbelele, replacing Honourable Pat Ajudua as Minority Leader.

In a statement by the National Chairman of the party, Honourable Muh'd Lawal Nalado and the Secretary, Honourable Suleiman Isyaku, the party said it was never consulted either at the State or national level on the issue of change of Minority Leader.

He described the action of Comrade Benson Gbelele as regrettable, null and void, adding that the public should discountenance it. Meanwhile, the National Working Committee of the party has announced the indefinite suspension of the Comrade Benson Gbelele led State executive of the party.

The National Publicity, the Accord Party, Honourable Elvis Amadi who briefed newsmen yestarday in Asaba on behalf of the National Chairman of the Party Honourable Muh'd Lawal Nalado, said a five-man caretaker committee under the chairmanship of Mr. Godday Mgbabego and Mr Kizito Ijie as Secretary has been constituted to run the affairs of the party.

Honourable Amadi said the suspension of the State executive was to save the party from collapse and directed the suspended officers to surrender the party's property in their possession to the caretaker committee chairman.
