Uduaghan Assures Peaceful Communities of Development.

GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has reiterated his promise that all peaceful communities in the state would get adequate government patronage even as he commended the Ogidigben/Ugborodo people for their peaceful disposition and urged them to sustain same for greater infrastructural benefits.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Oil and Gas, Mr. David Ekereokosu, gave the assurance when he represented the Governor at the formal handing over of a multi-million naira 232,000litres capacity productive water borehole, water treatment plant and associated water storage facilities at Ogidigben, Escravos in Warri-South-West council area of the state last weekend.

The facilities which were presented to the community elders and leaders were built by the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, a subsidiary of the NNPC

Mr. Ekereokosu said the peaceful nature of the people is in line with the three point agenda of the state government, promising them of better days ahead. He commended the PPMC for giving the community such a complete package, noting however that it was part of their corporate social responsibility.

The PPMC Managing Director, Mr. R.C.Stanley represented by the Warri area manager of the organization, Mr. Meteke Godwin told the people that the project was borne out of their desire to assist the communities in the provision of potable drinking water and charged them to judiciously manage and secure the scheme for their eternal benefit.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Pa. Godfrey Ajekerenbiaghan who is also the Okwa of Ugborodo thanked the PPMC, the contractor and Mr. Frank Awala the initiator of the project who also ensured that it was executed to specification.

He however charged the PPMC to go a step further in the completion of the water project by ensuring that they put a good distribution network in place for the water to get to all the February 9, 2009 people it is meant to serve.
