JUSTICE Adolphous Karibi-White (rtd),Vice President Goodluck Jonathan and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole are expected to witness the conferment of awards on Ijaw National Leader, Chief Edwin Clark, Prof. Itse Sagay and some prominent citizens of the Niger Delta region.

In a statement issued in Warri, Delta State, Human Rights Network International (HURNETI), Nigeria, the organizers of the award said Vice President Jonathan would be the Niger Delta father of honour at the event slated for November 29th and 30th at Wellington Hotels, Warri.

The body gave the names of beneficiary of awards as Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN); former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah; Chairman of DESOPADEC, Dr. Wellington Okirika; Secretary DESOPADEC, Mr. Andy Osawota; President of MOSOP, Ledum Mitee and two others.
 
The statement signed by Executive Chairman and Programme Coordinator, Mr. O. J. Emperor disclosed that the event tagged "Front Line Heroes of the Niger Delta struggle for emancipation" will be used to unveil Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) intellectual resource project/distinguished lecture series.
