Charges Soldiers to Maintain Discipline
The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike, has charged officers and men of the Joint Task force, Operation Restore Hope, to be loyal and disciplined at all times.
The CDS gave the charge while on a working visit to the headquarters of the Joint (military) Task Force (JTF) in Warri, Delta State.
Air Chief Marshal Dike while addressing officers and men of the Joint Task Porce commended them for their effort in ensuring peace and stability in the Niger-Delta region and urged them to curb kidnapping and vandalism of pipelines.
He charged members of the JTF to shun acts of indiscipline and show due respect to civilians in the course of carrying out their duties.
Air Chief Marshall Dike also charged members of the Joint Task Force to avoid harassing journalists as they cannot carryout their duties effectively without the assistance of journalists saying that they were partners in progress.
Meanwhile, Air Chief Marshall Dike has said the JTF would not relent in their effort in fighting illegal bunkerers as it was their constitutional responsibility to put an end to the ugly act.
He stated that his mission was to ensure that the soldiers are well equipped to meet the fire power of militants and praised the Delta State Government for providing the Joint Task Force a conducive environment to operate. He was accompanied on the visit by military top brass, which included the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Adbulrahman Bello Danbazau.
