Beautification of Cities in Delta State Not Spurred by Under-17 FIFA Tourney
By The Special Adviser to the Governor Special Duties Hon. Solomon Edoja has said the on going beautification and demolition of illegal structures in Warri has nothing to do with the bidding for the under – 17 soccer World Cup by the Delta State Government.
Hon. Edoja made the disclosure in a chat with newsmen during the demolition of illegal structures in Warri recently adding that the exercise was aimed at instilling discipline on the minds of owners of illegal structures.
The former Federal House of Representative in the Second Republic stated that the Uduaghan’s administration has made beautification of major towns in the State part of its agenda. He therefore advised those that do not have anything doing in the cities to go back to their villages.
Hon. Edoja also disclosed that the provision of taxis and buses by the State Government was aimed at phasing out commercial motor-cycle operation from the urban areas of the state. He however added that the phasing out policies would be done gradually after sufficient air-condition cars and vehicles must have been put on the roads in the urban areas by the state government.
