LG Boss Appeals Over Burutu River.

BURUTU local government Council boss, Frank Zuokumor have implored investors to take advantage of the prevailing peace and security in the council area to do business there, just as he also appealed to the Federal Government to dredge the Burutu river so as to open up the water channels to allow bigger vessels to come to the locality and bring back the moribund Burutu port back to life.

The council boss spoke shortly after inspecting the facilities at the Akewa Group of Companies, Burutu, Delta State, Weekend. Zuokumor, who inspected the offshore tug boat, dredger, the machinist workshop, the carpentry/furniture workshop and other places in the company also called on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to commence work on the proposed roads that would link Burutu to other places.

The chairman while commending the Executive Director of Akewa Group of Companies, Chief Kenneth Donye, for the employment of over 400 youths in the Niger Delta, especially from Burutu appealed to Government to provide certain incentives to investors who are willing to do business in the area.
