Uduaghan Urges PDP Aspirants in Delta State to Shun Violence.
Delta State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has said that PDP aspirants found promoting violence and disturbing the peace of the state may not be accepted by the party.
Dr. Uduaghan who announced this during a meeting with PDP aspirants from Delta Central Senatorial Zone condemned the activities of some aspirants who were already causing chaos and disturbing the peace in the state.
He advised aspirants to desist from violence and blackmail even as he advised them to go about their consultation peacefully.
The governor said the state has had its fair share of crisis and promised to maintain peace and security in the state. "I will not accept any aspirant promoting violence. The state have had its fair share of crisis and we need peace."
Explaining further, he noted that the nation is yearning for credible election and as such PDP was working towards achieving that mission through credible primaries. "PDP is working towards achieving a credible election starting from the ward level of the party’s primaries"
Governor Uduaghan stated that he has not endorsed any aspirant and urged them to be free to consult and campaign in any part if their constituency.
He also charged them not to see election as a do or die affair. Explaining further, he said "I have refused to endorsed any aspirant because I know the implication of that."
He advised all political office holders contesting as a delegate to resign from their present position explaining that it was against the electoral law of the nation to continue to sit tight in their positions. When they are contesting for elective positions.
He congratulated the aspirants for the boldness in collecting forms to vie for electoral position and advised them to go about consulting in their constituency peacefully.
