Koko-Ogheye Road Project Kicks Off.
KOKO—ITSEKIRI in their thousands will today gather at Aja-Olugbeti, Koko, in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, to witness the ground-breaking ceremony of the Koko-Ogheye Road project awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission, NNDC.
The road which was conceived in 1955 by the defunct Niger Delta Development Board, NDDB, remained unattended to until 1978 when the Itsekiri, through communal efforts, attempted to undertake the construction. This they could not complete and last year the Federal Government, through the NDDC, awarded the contract.
The ground-breaking ceremony, which is being organised by the Reyenieju Warri Federal Constituency Office, will be performed by the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, to be assisted by the member representing the Warri Federal Constituency, Mr. Daniel Reyenieju and the Managing Director of NDDC, Mr Chibuzor Ugwhoha.
