Uduaghan Commended for Assistance to Police.

Ministry of Information, Delta State
22/10/2009

The Delta State Police Commissioner Yakubu Alkali, has commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for empowering the State Police Command in its task of combating and preventing crime in the State.

Mr. Alkali who was speaking during his courtesy call to HRM Emmanuel Sideso JP Abe, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, made a passionate appeal to the Uvwie monarch to help the police in thanking Governor Uduaghan for providing patrol security vans to the force in the State.

He appealed to Honourable Peter Abugewa the executive Chairman of Uvwie Council to emulate the good gesture of Governor Uduaghan by providing walkie-talkies for his men to further assist them in preventing and combating crime in the area.

The visiting Delta State Police Commissioner, who assured that his office was open for 24 hours to anybody needing police assistance in crime prevention, frowned at the habit of most Local Government Council Chairmen in the State who switch off their hands sets, noting that criminality begins from home, advising parents to monitor the activities of their
wards.

Speaking through Chief Tuesday Onoge, the President-General of Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU), HRM Abe 1 appealed for a police station in Effurun, headquarters of Uvwie Council in addition to the creation of more police check points in the area and sitting of a police post at the University town of Ugbomro.
