Uduaghan To Reward Best Performing Athletes.

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has declared a mouth-watering package for any Delta State athletes, who will come home with gold medal in the National Sports festival coming up in Kaduna this year,

On a visit to the athletes at their training camps in Ogwashi-Uku and Onicha Olona, Uduaghan said that the state already had an enviable record in the sports festival and assured the athletes that his administration would reward all gold medalists with juicy packages.

He urged them to train harder in order to sustain the state's enviable position and to a good competitive spirit.

The First Lady, Mrs. Shila Uduaghan, who accompanied her husband on the visit, interacted with the team and prayed to God to protect and strengthen the athletes in the great task ahead.

The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr. Pinnick Amaju, while briefing the governor on the level of preparation and gave the assurance that the athletes have trained hard.

Amaju promised that the athletes were ready and would win more gold medals than they did in the previous festival.

He said the Governor's visit was a tonic that would boost the morale of the athletes, promising that they would not disappoint the State.

On the governor's entourage were Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama (SAN); the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martins Okonta; the Secretary to the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa; and members of the State Executive Council.
