Uduaghan Gets Urhobo vote of Confidence.
Urhobo politicians in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, have thrown their support behind the Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The Urhobo politicians, under the aegis of Urhobo Consultative Forum, a pressure group within the PDP in Delta State, commended Uduaghan for his giant strides and said the Urhobo ethnic nationality was solidly behind his administration.
The UCF in a communique issued at the end of its meeting held at Ovu, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, said Uduaghan was proactively working out ways to bring economic prosperity to the state, adding that the body was impressed by the faithful implementation of his three-point agenda.
The meeting was attended by notable political figures, especially PDP chieftains from the eight local government areas in Urhoboland. Particularly, the Urhobo political class, including elected and political office holders at all levels of governments were present at the rally.
Political heavy weights at the rally included Chief Mike Adiotomre, Chairman, Elders' Council of PDP in Delta State, Chief Sefia, Chairman, Interim Committee of UCF, Chief Tom Amioku, Major Gen. Esuo Obada, Political Adviser to the Governor, Engineer Omeni Sobotie, former Commissioner for Information, Chief Judith Enamuotor, Member of House of Representatives, Chief John Agoda, commissioners, members of the State House of Assembly and National Assembly as well as chairmen of the eight local government councils in Urhoboland.
Amioku was visibly impressed by the turn-out of the high and low in Urhobo nation at the meeting said, "When we had the last general meeting in Egborode in Okpe Local Government Area, we thought we had broken all the records, given the high level of mobilization and attendance by a cross section of Urhobo political class and our sons and daughters in government at all levels.
Today, this Ethiope East hosting here in Ovu, it is evident that a new record is being set. "We are pledging to work assiduously to promote the overall political interest of Urhobo nation and provide a rallying point for its members and a solid support base for the administration of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan.
"It is also worthy of note that our dynamic Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is already proactively working and developing the state in all facets.
His agricultural support programme, youth and women empowerment schemes and others yet to come in the areas of empowerment of elders and community leaders are intended to ameliorate the negative effects on the state that was hitherto over dependent on oil revenue."
