DSTG Commended for Setting up Sanitation Mobile Courts.
The Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and the State Chief Judge, Chief Mrs. Roseline Bozimo have been commended for approving the setting up of sanitation mobile courts to prosecute sanitation offenders in the State.
This commendation was made in Ughelli North Local Government Council by the Supervisor for Environment, Chief Barr. Anuku in his office whije commenting on environment issues in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The supervisor of Environment said that the Ughelli North Local Government Council has put machinery in place to sensitize the people on the need to be watchful so that toxic waste is not dumped in any part of the Local Government.
He said that the people have also been warned that before any piece of land is sold to any company for project, the Department of Environmental should be notified.
Chief Anuku also appealed to land developers in Ughelli North to desist from building structure on the Natural Water Ways so as to reduce the problem of flooding in Ughelli, adding that both the State and the Council have done so much to reduce the perennial problem of flooding in Ughelli.
The supervisory councilor while stating some of the constraints which include lack of dump-site and limited finance, commended the Chairman of Ughelli North, Mr. Kenneth Ibru for his quick response to environmental issues.
