Data on work force, DTSG roll out Automated Payroll System
The State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has approved the implementation of an automated payroll system with Biometric Capabilities for civil and public servants in the State.
A statement by the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Bernard Okumagba, says the automated payroll system which entails the collection of finger prints and passport photographs of each employee will ensure that only legitimate employees receive salaries.
The statement directed all heads of Ministries, Directorates, Agencies Parastatals and Establishment to collect serialized copies of the data capture forms from the office of the Head of Service not later than Friday 12th September, and distribute same to all staff under them who are expected to complete and sign the forms.
The State Governor has approved a steering committee chaired by the commissioner for Economic Planning to supervise the implementation of the project. The statement warns that employees who do not participate in the exercise will not be reflected on the payroll of the State at the end of the exercise.
