A Team of Indians in Delta for Speedy Development.

A team of Indian experts have arrived Delta State to work out possible modalities in partnering with the state government in providing major infrastructures to fast-track development in the state.

The Chairman of DSC International H.S Narula who led the team disclosed when he paid the acting governor of the state Prince Sam Obi a courtesy call said they were in the state to discussed the modalities of investment in infrastructures like Power and Energy, Education and Road construction sectors.

Mr. Narula said his company DSC International has already has an office in Abuja and has started negotiations with the federal government on how to generate 1,000 mega watt of electricity to assist the government in improving the power problem in Nigeria.

He noted that the company has also concluded negotiation with Ondo state government and would be renovating a total of 100 Schools as part of the partnership which will commence on January 16th 2011.

Speaking further, he stated that no country in the world can develop its infrastructure alone without assistance from private partnership adding that it was in recognition of this that his company was ready to assist Delta state in developing its power, Education and Road construction sector.

His words “There is no country in the world that its government can develop its infrastructure alone without collaborating with private companies".

He explained that if the necessary infrastructures were exploited and properly utilized, it will help reduce the unemployment rate and improve the living standard of the people.

The acting governor of the state Prince Sam Obi in his brief remarks commended DSC International for the initiative and indicated the state government interest in the partnership.

He promised that negotiations will commence to work out possible areas of cooperation between the state government and the company explaining that the partnership will center on areas which the state will need assistance.

"I invited you here after you discussed with us in Abuja to meet my Exco and inform them of your interest. If after discussion there are area we will need your assistance, then we will partner with your company".
