Asaba International Airport for Test Run Soon.
The acting governor of Delta state, Prince Sam Obi has announced that a test run programme for the Asaba International Airport will start soon.
Prince Obi who announced this while inspecting the airport explained that the designed programme would ensure that an aircraft bearing the former governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Speaker Barr. Basil Ganagana and himself would fly from the airport to Abuja.
He promised that the State Government would give the necessary financial assistance to contractors to enable them speedingly complete on-going projects in the state and expressed satisfaction at the level of work at the airport.
"This is a perfect job you are doing, I am very impressed with the level of work, I have to commend you, this will challenge the government to release more money for the speedy completion of the airport".
He charged contractors in the state to accelerate the space of work on the projects as the state government has taken a bold step to improve the living standard of the people.
The Acting Governor who also inspected the Asaba drainage site urged the contractor handling the project Engr. Tunde Okoturu of MODIS construction to mobilize fully to work site as dry season was the best time for construction work.
The Acting Governor inspected the companies store house along Benin Asaba Road, the drainage site along Okpanam road and the stream where the drainage will be channeled into along Anwai road.
"This is the ideal time for construction work, dry season. You have to move all these constructed drainage rings and pneumatic ballons to work site. This job has to be completed before the rains start".
At the New Secretariat Complex the acting governor called on the Secretary to the state government Mrs. Beatrice Omeni and the Housing Commissioner Mr. Frank Omare to ensure that finishing touch was put to work, as he will commission the complex for use by the end of December.
While responding to questions from journalist the Commissioner for Information Mr. Oma Djebah disclosed that the state government was on course explaining that the project would soon be completed.
Projects inspected include, the Asaba International Airport, the Asaba Drainage, New Government House Complex and the New Secretariat Complex.
