Acting Governor Swears-in Thirty Three New Commissioners.

The Acting Governor of Delta State, Prince Sam Obi, has sworn-in thirty three new Commissioners into the state Executive Council with a charge to them, to work assiduously for development as it would not be business as usual.

Prince Obi who gave this charge during the swearing in of the new Commissioners in Asaba explained that it was their responsibilities to harness the resources in their different Ministries to serve the electorate better.

He charged them, especially those that were re-called to change their attitude to work, be committed, transparent and accountable in order to serve the electorate better.

"Most of the Commissioners survived this appointment by the whiskers. You have to change your attitude to work especially those of you that were re-called and serve the electorate better".

Prince Obi assured contractors that his administration has plans on ground to pay all of them that have been given warrant and warned that he would deal with anybody who hinders the payment.

"I have asked those in-charge to give me the debt profile of contractors we will pay all of them that has warrant. I call on the contractors not to bribe anybody in order to get their payment, if I hear any complain to this end I will remove such individual".

He urged the Commissioners to carryout empowerment program in their jurisdiction in order to enable the electorate enjoy the dividends of democracy.

The Acting Governor noted that his administration was focused and would ensure peace, stability, sustainable development and harmonious co-existence among the people saying "I need your support to achieve this vision".

He appealed to the Commissioners to be open to the people in their constituencies, identifying with them in order to address their challenges and serve them better. In a brief response, the Commissioner for Health who spoke on behalf of his colleagues thanked the acting governor for the opportunity given them to serve and pledged their loyalty to the governor and Deltans.

He promised that they would be dedicated to duty and serve Deltans better saying "we shall not fail you, we shall not fail Deltans and we shall not fail PDP".

The Commissioners sworn-in are Barr. Victor E. Otomiewo,Mr. Oma Djeba, Hon. (Dr.) Joseph S. Otumara, Mrs. Juliet Oti Agoba, Comrade Ovuozuorie Macauley, Mr. George Omordi Ugboma, Dr. (Barr.) B.B. Orubebe, Queen Victoria Ikenchukwu, Hon. Anthony Akpomiemie, (Chief) Ross Uredi, Chief Lawrence C. Osiegbu, Dr. (Ideh) Tony Nwaka.

Others are Rev. (Mrs.) Omatsola C. Williams, Dr. (Mrs.) Antonia Ashiedu, Dr. Christ Ogheneechovwen, and Barr. Richard Mofe-Damijo, Dr. Hope Eghagha, Mr. Patrick Mozea, Chief Frank Omare, Mrs. Orezi Jane Esievo, Mr. Azuka Osakwe, Lady (Barr.) Kate Mudiaga-Erhueh, Hon. Solomon Edojah, Barr.
