Uduaghan Outlines Plans for Delta 2009 Retreat.
GOVERNOR of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, yesterday, revealed that the state's 2009 Retreat would hold at the multi-million naira 911 Resort and Beach, Ugborodo, Escravos, even as he thanked assumed militants in the state for ensuring that the wheel of governance runs smoothly.
He also said the realization of the 911 dream has vindicated him as a good manager of human beings and a testimony to his administrative acumen and dexterity.
Uduaghan made these remarks at Akpakpa-Ajudiabo, Escravos, Warri South-West council area at the formal commissioning of the sprawling multi-million naira seaside beach and resort, saying that "before now, I have been called all sorts of unprintable names because of some youths who have today demonstrated that they can be instrument of change and development in their community".
The world class Atlantic resort and beach according to him, should spur other youths in the state who he has empowered to invest in their communities also, saying that such social development creates inter-ethnic harmony, brotherliness addresses issues of rural-urban drift just as he praised the proprietor of 911 resort for his foresight and promised the state government assistance where needed.
In his brief speech at the commissioning ceremony, President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and founder of the Word of Life Bible Church, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, said with this kind of gigantic investment at the mouth of the Atlantic ocean attracting people from all walks of life, "it shows that we are all one and can leave peacefully together to develop our various communities".
He therefore prayed for the continued growth of the resort, adding that God has blessed 911 and will take to the four corners of the world. Chairman of 911 beach and resort, Mr. Ayirimi Emami said the venture was his own way of contributing to the socio-economic upliftment of the Niger Delta region using entertainment and hospitality to promote peace in the creeks.
The occasion chaired by a former PDP gubernatorial candidate and business guru in Delta state, Chief Charles Ufuoma Obule was attended by dignitaries from across Nigeria and Niger Delta region including the state SSG, Dr. Ifeayin Okowa, House of Repr member, Hon. Dan Reyenieju, State Assembly Member, Dan Mayuku, past chairmen of councils, Commissioners, Special Advisers, community leaders, youths, women groups and others.
