DTSG Promises Modern Facilities for Warri City Stadium
The Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has promised to equip the Warri Township Stadium with modern facilities in order to ensure that it meets up with the standard required for the hosting of the Federation of International Football, FIFA under seventeen football competition, tagged ‘Nigeria 2009’.
Dr. Uduaghan gave this assurance recently when he inspected the progress of renovation work at the stadium. While commending the quality of work done so far in the stadium, he however charged the renowned Korean Firm handling the project to execute it according to specification.
Governor Uduaghan inspected work at the Stadium synthetic turf, the dressing rooms, the seating stands, electronic score board and the exit points.He was accompanied on the inspection by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly,Hon. Martins Okonta and conducted round the stadium by the Chairman of the “State Sports Commission, Mr. Amaju Pinnick.
In related development, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has commissioned two thirty six setter Coaster Buses and handed them over to Warri Wolves Football Club of Delta State. The Governor stated that Government handed over the buses to the club and the State Wing of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club to support them and improve on their performance in the premier league.
He commended the clubs performance and appealed to the supporters not to relent in efforts even as he disclosed that a customized Marco polo Bus purchased by the their government for the comfort of the players and officials would soon arrive the state.
