The opposition against Uduaghan if sustained and properly articulated, would have been very good for the proper growth of Delta State but unfortunately most Nigerian politicians are like magicians. Once more money is in the pipeline, especially in the next couple of weeks and months, the battle will have a new complexion because from all logical reasoning, the struggle for power in Delta State still lacks any strong ideological bent. It seems more of self interest than common good.

Amid a host of factors working against Uduaghan is the issue involving an Ex Governor of Delta State, James Ibori who magnanimously handed over power to his close cousin Uduaghan despite the avalanche of criticisms that greeted his selection as the PDP flag bearer in 2007 elections.

Delta State, a major oil producer in the Niger Delta region is in a major political confusion on who becomes the next Governor of the State in the 2011 elections.
In the past three years, the opposition parties to the ruling People’s Democratic Party in Delta State have been successfully dwarfed having performed abysmally or rigged out in the last gubernatorial elections.

The recent political appointments of Acting President Jonathan lacking an Urhobo, the largest ethnic group in Delta State and fifth largest in Nigeria are a reflection of the present state of the Urhobo nation. Suffice it to state that the state of the Urhobo nation is in shambles, and needs urgent attention.

FIFTEEN month into this administration, it is becoming increasingly clear, that the governor of the oil-rich Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan has brought his midas touch to bear on the governance of the state with the visible transformation going on across the state.
Dr. Uduaghan has, repeatedly at various for a, sought the understanding and patience of Deltans, majority of whom had accused his administration of being too slow.
