OPOROZA, Nigeria, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Nigeria's last prominent militant leader agreed to halt fighting in the oil-producing Niger Delta and surrendered his weapons on Sunday in return for an unconditional pardon.

Electricity for 1,509 towns in Delta State.

NO fewer than 1,509 towns in 25 local government areas of Delta State are to be supplied electricity by the Delta Energy Distribution Company (DELDISCO) if the economic-revolution plan of the state government in partnership with international investors and financial institutions to build four gas-powered generating stations in 24 months at the cost of $2 billion sails through.
