Reprieve For 13 Inmates as Chief Judge Visits Warri Prison.
It was a pleasant surprise for 13 of the inmates of Warri Prisons as they yesterday walked into the sweet path of freedom following amnesty granted them by the visiting Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Roselyn Bozimo.
They were acquitted of their offence by Justice Bozimo who toured federal prison in Warri, Delta state. The 13 persons were acquitted and released from prison or found innocent of charges leveled against them. More
Jos Crisis: Delta Evacuates Indigenes.
Delta State Government has commenced the evacuation of its indigenes caught in the religious crisis in Jos, Plateau State, back home in order to ensure that no Deltan is left stranded in the conflict areas.
Already, the first batch of those evacuated has arrived Asaba, the state capital.
The state government took the step following the personal intervention of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, the Governor who immediately directed relevant government departments and agencies to ensure that those evacuated be assisted to return to their homes and reunite with their families in different parts of the state. Delta State Pledges Completion of Warri Water Scheme
WORRIED by the slow pace of work at the Warri/Effurun Water Scheme, the Delta State government has restated its commitment to the timely completion of the project.
The reassurance was made when the Commissioner for Special Duties in charge of the project, Mr. Fred Majemite, paid a routine inspection to the site at the weekend.
He decried the slow pace of work, noting that the state government would ensure that the project was completed within the shortest possible time as it is of immense benefit to the people. More
